In the same case, another 22-year-old Emirati man, identified as M.S., was condemned to one year in prison on the charge of consuming tramadol. The court ordered the seizure of the narcotics found in their possession.

The verdict was pronounced by the bench presided by Judge Saeed Abdullah Masoud.

The case goes back to June this year when the Fujairah Police received a tip-off that M.H. was possessing hashish for peddling.

While M.H. was driving his car accompanied by the second accused M.S., the police found the latter in an abnormal mental state which rendered the policeman refer M.S. for urine test. A sample was taken for drug examination which tested positive for consuming tramadol.

On searching the car, the police recovered 500 grams of hashish.

During interrogation, the accused denied the charge levelled against them.
