The 24-year-old defendant was arrested at the airport in April and 330 grams of cocaine were seized from her. She faced the charge of transporting drugs on transit in the Court of First Instance.

A police corporal said during investigation that he was on duty at the Anti-Narcotics Section at the airport that day and around 12.40am when he was touring the Transit Hall, he grew suspicious of the defendant because she looked scared and agitated.

She held two travel tickets at the same time, one to Kenya and the other to South Africa.

The corporal took the defendant to the Transit Inspection Section where a policewoman searched her. They found ten small plastic rolls under a wig she was wearing. The rolls contained cocaine.

When asked about the drugs, the defendant admitted that she brought them from a friend in Argentina. She was to deliver the drugs to someone in South Africa and she was to collect a sum of money for that.
