The alleged victim said during the Public Prosecution investigation that the defendant assaulted him in the bathroom of his villa in Mirdiff.

He met the accused and his cousin as he was walking towards a mall around 11pm one day in March. They offered him a lift in their car and he agreed.

Khaleej TimesThey stayed in the mall for a short time and the boy went back to the car. The defendant bought dinner from a restaurant at a petrol station and invited the boy to have dinner together in the latter’s villa.

The defendant’s cousin left when they reached the villa. They sat in the living room and watched a movie on television. Suddenly, the accused grabbed the boy’s hand by force and pulled him to the bathroom.

He locked the door, made the boy undress after threatening him with his fist and assaulted him.

The boy walked back home and slept without telling his parents about what happened because he felt scared and confused. The following day, the boy was surprised to see one of his friends coming to his villa accompanied by the defendant.

The boy learnt that the defendant had made his friend lead him to his villa after threatening to assault him if he did not do so. The defendant forced the boy to travel with him in his car saying he would assault one of his friends otherwise. The defendant’s brother and cousin were also in the car.

The boy stepped off the car at a mall but stayed near his friend. He knew that the defendant and the others were adjusting the car locks.

He was warned earlier by his friends not to ride with the defendant who would do something harmful to him. The boy called his mother on the phone and she made him reach the police through someone.

The boy told the police that the defendant threatened to kill and stab him. The defendant left with his companions in his car when he saw the police.

The boy was taken to the Rashidiya police station but he did not report the sexual assault then. He was scared because the defendant threatened to beat him up if he told anyone anything.

He told his mother about the incident three days later and she filed a complaint. A police lieutenant quoted the defendant as admitting that he assaulted the boy after having liquor together.

An Emirati student, 18, denied during investigation that he was present at the time of the incident.

The defendant alleged that the Emirati student was there and could testify that whatever happened was with the boy’s consent.
