According to prosecution records, the 22-year-old Emirati went on a stabbing frenzy after the victim accidently touched one of his friends who were accompanying them on that day.

The victim, a 20-year-old jobless and stateless, said that he was with the defendant’s brother and another friend outside a grocery in Muhaisina 4 around 1pm that day in September last year. The accused called his brother on his mobile phone and shortly later he came and asked to give him a ride to Nad Al Hamar. He was with his friend.

The complainant sat in the front seat in the car of the defendant’s brother while the defendant sat in the back seat behind him and his friend next to him. The complainant said that it all began when they moved about 100 metres. He stretched his hands backward and accidentally touched the defendant’s friend. He said he was sorry and that friend told him it was okay. But the accused started yelling at him and told his brother to stop the car.

The accused stepped off the car and pulled the complainant out and began stabbing him with a knife he took out of his pocket. He first stabbed him in the back of his head and the complainant collapsed. Then the defendant stabbed him in his left shoulder, two times in his abdomen and then in his right leg. The complainant woke up later in a hospital.

The complainant told the prosecutor that the accused wanted to kill him. The medical report dated September 20 of last year said that the complainant’s condition was still unstable at the time he was examined and treated.

The report suggested that he should come back for revision three months later and that he bring another detailed medical report from the relevant surgeon to determine whether the stabbing left him with a permanent disability or not.

The accused admitted during the investigation that he stabbed the complainant in many parts of his body. The two other men, who were in the car, testified that they saw him stabbing the complainant.
