Brigadier Omer Abdul Aziz Al Shamsi, Director of the control room of the Dubai Police, said that the first accident took place on Shaikh Zayed Road because of the rain while the other two accidents on the Dubai-Al Ain Road, which killed two Arab nationals, was caused by speeding.
In the first accident, the driver of a car was charred to death at 5.30pm, after the vehicle crashed into the side barrier on the road.
The police lifted the charred body and found out that the car belonged to a Lebanese national but have not yet confirmed whether the deceased is the same person as the car belongs to. The body and documents were burnt inside.
The second and third accidents took place on the Bypass Road from Jebel Ali to Al Hibab area. In the second accident, the driver lost control over his speeding car, which overturned and the Egyptian passenger was killed on the spot while the car driver and another passenger suffered moderate injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
In the third accident, which caused the death of a Bangladeshi national, the vehicle overturned after speeding.
Al Shamsi has called on drivers to observe precautionary measures during the rain and to reduce speed.
Ha said the authorities continued work to remove rain water from roads, which caused partial closure of the Emirates Road on Friday.
The Dubai Municipality, RTA, the Ministry of Public Works, the Sharjah Municipality and other concerned authorities had continued work for the whole night until they succeeded in opening the road on Saturday morning.
