The Ras Al Khaimah Police have caught a gang of six drug dealers red-handed with narcotics as part of an operation code-named 'money transfers'.
According to Col Adnan Ali Al Zaabi, director of the anti-narcotics department, RAK Police, the suspects used and trafficked narcotics. "Different amounts (unspecified) of drugs, including heroin, morphine, and narcotic crystal, were extracted from secret pouches in the vehicle they were driving."
Undercover agents sent a tip-off to the police that the suspects had drugs and they intended to peddle it. "Having verified the tip-off, the department formed a team led by Major Ali Al Saadi, head of the anti-narcotics section, to monitor and track the gang."
Investigations revealed that the six suspects were wiring money to an Asian country, Col Al Zaabi disclosed. "Further investigation revealed that the accused were being directed by a group of inmates here serving different jail terms for drug peddling."
The anti-narcotics team arrested the accused as they were delivering the drugs.
