A man who has been jailed nearly 14 years for more than 70 offences could potentially be addicted to being in jail.
This was the defence given by his lawyer at the latest hearing to a Fujairah court on Sunday.
The GCC national has been in and out of prison for multiple offences since he was 10 years old. He is currently doing time for drug abuse and has been in jail for four years, as per Ittihad report.
He committed multiple crimes including drinking, drug abuse, theft, brawling, and others.
Prior to his last conviction, he had been out of jail for barely a few days before he committed another crime and got himself arrested.
The lawyers argued that such behaviour indicates that he is suffering from a mental illness that drives him to such extremes of conduct.
