Police source said the operation room received a call about a suspiciously parked car early on Saturday morning.
Police patrols, CID officers and forensic experts rushed to the crime scene at 3am and found the woman’s body in a pool of blood in the car trunk.
The police collected evidence and fingerprints from the scene which indicated a criminal act and shifted the body to the forensic laboratory. The case is being followed up by the industrial area police station.
The source said initial forensic investigations revealed stabs and bruises all over the victim’s body.
A team was immediately set up to investigate the case which managed to find out the identity of the victim. After thorough investigation, the officers arrested a man who is believed to be having connections with the crime. The police are currently interrogating the suspect to identify the motive behind the crime.
