Emirati woman killed in Oman accident
Five people, including an Emirati woman, three Omanis and an Ethiopian housemaid, were killed and eight others sustained injuries in a car crash in the Qatbeet neighbourhood of the wilayat of Maqshan on Saturday.
The accident happened when an Omani was driving his car from the wilayat of Adam towards the wilayat of Thumrait. While overtaking a vehicle, he saw another car coming from on the opposite direction. Though he tried his best to avoid a crash, the two vehicles collided head on.
The Thumrait police station despatched patrol cars and ambulances to the accident site. The injuries of the eight range from critical to moderate and minor. The bodies were shifted to the Maqshan Health Centre along with the injured to receive medical treatment.
