Emirati gets ten years for fatal beating
A jobless man, who was high on drugs when he beat his neighbour to death, has been sentenced to ten years in prison by the Court of First Instance.
The 31-year-old Emirati who was walking his pet monkey at the time, got into a brawl with his neighbour and after severely beating the victim, he stuffed his mouth with sand and left him.
The accused, identified as S.S., was charged with assault leading to death to which he pleaded guilty. The verdict can be appealed within 15 days.
The police tested S.S.’s urine and it was positive for traces of tramadol. —mary@khaleejtimes.com
