Family-owned conglomerate committed to nurturing the development of Emirati workforce
Al Buhaira Police Station and industrial area police stations received severa complaints about a spate of car thefts.
The thieves allegedly targeted Chevrolets and Mitsubishis in areas including Al Qasimiya, Al Tawoun and the industrial areas.
Upon their arrest, the suspects confessed to stealing the cars with the intent to smuggle them to Iran after forging documents. As a result, the police warned auto-workshops not to repair cars without seeing the registration card or accident report from the police first, in order to avoid being questioned by authorities.
Many criminals often try to cover up a crime or change the appearance of a stolen car by modifying the vehicle involved.
The police also urged motorists not to leave their vehicle engines running as it promotes easy access for car thieves.
Based on the duo’s confession, the police have referred the case to the Public Prosecution.
