The man was sentenced on Tuesday by the Fujairah Criminal Court to three months in jail followed by deportation on the charge of bribing an Arab motor vehicle testing technician.
The case goes back to last month when a 29-year-old Arab man identified as A.B, working as a motor vehicle testing technician, lodged a complaint with the Fujairah Police reporting that the Asian man offered him Dh100 in a bribe in exchange for letting the latter’s car pass the technical test required for registration.
The man was arrested and was referred to the public prosecution which accused him of bribery.
The court convicted the defendnat of bribing the technician and sentenced him to three months in prison to be followed by deportation after serving his jail term.
