Court documents show that on October 17, 2019, the Pakistani men, aged between 24 and 31, beat the Indian victim at their work site. The incident was reported at Al Rashidiya police station.
"I was waiting for the bus that would drop us back at the accommodation along with my workmates. It was around 4.15pm and we were waiting on a sandy yard near the work site. When the bus arrived and before I could get inside, a group of men attacked me. One hit me by his elbow on the neck while another grabbed me by my neck. Then a third man kicked me on the back and a fourth kicked me on my leg," the 35-year-old victim recounted during the public prosecution investigation.
Even after knocking him down, the men kept punching and kicking him until he passed out. He only woke up after a witness poured water on him. "I immediately complained at Al Rashidiya police station. Officers took me to hospital," he said.
When the victim was examined first, he was found to have multiple bruises and fractures. The forensic expert advised that he be referred again for examination after six months with a report by an orthopaedic doctor so that a final report could be issued about his health condition.
The victim identified the defendants three times among other suspects shown to him at the police station.
The four accused will be sentenced on February 26.
