Zeeshan steals show in NTDE’s 60-run victory over Brothers Eleven

UMM AL QUWAIN - An all-round performance by Zeeshan T saw National Trading Developing Est (NTDE) beat Brothers Eleven by 60 runs in the second Golden Tower T-20 tournament, organised under the aegis of Ajman Cricket Council and supervised by Emirates Cricket Board, at Umm Al Quwain ground.

In another match Maklai CC carved out a 85-run victory over CBI.

NTDE opted to batted first and scored 206 for 5 and later bowled out their rivals for 146 in 19.5 overs.

Zeeshan hit a 28-ball 64, which included fives sixes and seven fours. He later picked up two wickets to be named the man-of-the-match. Kaleem (51), Haroon (22) and Fernando and Soman with 17 each were the other contributors for NTDE.

In reply, Brothers Eleven lost wickets at regular intervals. Asad was their top scorer with 34 followed by Waseem (29), Zeeshan (16), Kazim (15) and Nayeem (12).

Haroon picked up three wickets whilst conceding 35 runs while Zeeshan, Fasli and Kaleem bagged two each.

Abid scored 78 as his team Maklai CC defeated CBI by 85 runs. Batting first on winning the toss, Maklai set up a victory target of 182 for CBI who were all out for 96 in 14.5 overs.

Abid hit three sixes and 10 boundaries in his 39-ball knock. Opener Amin remained not out on 45 and Mehboob hit an unbeaten 24. For CBI, only Azam (30) and Rajeev (15) reached double digit scores. Farooque was the most successful bowler for the winners, picking up four wickets for 26 runs. Mateek and Shouqat claimed two wickets each. Abid was named the man-of-the-match.

In another match, M Ismail hit a 21-ball half century (51) to help Transgulf CC beat Flowtech CC by 54 runs. Ismail reached the boundary five times and over it on four occasions.

Batting first on winning the toss, Transgulf scored 181 for the loss for four wickets and later restricted their rivals to 131 for 8. Muthukali (59), Asif (37) and Khurram (17) were the other scorers for the winners. Shabir claimed two wickets for the losers.

Flowtech fumbled with their reply with only three batsmen reaching double figures. Nawas made (33), Prince (28) and Ashiq (12) as they fell short of the target by 54 runs. M Ismail of Transgulf was awarded the man-of-the-match.

In earlier matches, What’s On beat Emirates NBD with Jairaj Thakur hitting an unbeaten 91 to be named the man-of-the-match; Aga Khan Cricket Club (AKCC) beat Carfare Dubai XI by 40 runs; Trivandrum CC beat Sky Jewellery by nine wickets and Trade Union LLC beat Brothers Eleven by 75 runs.
