Yogi Group defeated Eurocon Alubond by four wickets in a semifinal match of the AJ Invitation Tournament while they demolished Rufi Real Estate, scoring a massive 101-run victory to enter the final of the Sharjah Invitation League.
With Ali Abbas (three for 26) and Azmal (two for 37) sharing five wickets, Yogi Group restricted Eurocon Alubond to 194 for seven despite a fine 61 by Azam and then achieved the challenging victory target in 19.1 overs.
Former Mumbai Ranji Trophy player Swapnil Patil (78) and Prabodhan Kanse (68) successfully led the chase with some solid batting which featured attractive stroke all-round the wicket.
Prabodhan and Swapnil also held the centre-stage in their Sharjah Invitation League semifinal match against Rufi Real Estate. Prabodhan cracked a quick-fire unbeaten 100 while Swapnil chipped in with an equally aggressive 66 as Yogi Group, batting first, scored 231 for one.
Rufi Real Estate, in reply, were bowled out for 130 in the 18th over with Kamran Shahzad and Shiva ripping their innings apart by taking three wickets each. Rohan Mustafa (53) waged a lone battle for Rufi Real Estate, but in vain.
