Tariq spurs AF Motors Toyota

In the final played at Umm Al Quwain grounds, Al Futtaim Motors Toyota defeated Car Fare Dubai by 45 runs.

The tournament, held under the supervision of the Emirates Cricket Board, and played under the auspices of the Ajman Cricket Council, was organised under the leadership of Mushtaq Ahmed Chowdhary.

Electing to bat first on winning the toss, Al Futtaim Motors Toyota set a victory target of 189 for their opponents losing eight wickets.

Tariq was the star for Al Futtaim Motors with a well made half century (61) from 40 deliveries.

Tariq reached the ropes six times and over the fence once during his stay at the crease.

Tariq later claimed three wickets whilst conceding 24 runs to be named the man of the final.

Waseem scored a 21-ball 43 with the help nine boundaries and one six but missed his half-century as a pump of adrenaline saw him made a hasty stroke straight into the hands of a rival player.

Asghar Butt made 28 with the help of five fours while Arif remained not out on 24 which included five boundaries. Salman scored 11 as Al Futtaim Motors Toyota finished their innings on 188 for the loss of seven wickets.

Rohit Verma was the most successful bowler for the losers claiming two wickets whilst conceding 33 runs.

Umar Shah picked up one for 36 while Sidney Fernandes, Abdul Rehman and Harkirat Panwar failed to get any wickets. Sidney was the most expensive bowler giving away 54 runs.

With an asking rate of 9.5 per over, Car Fare Dubai never seemed to threaten as they lost their top batsmen without making any useful contribution.

However, their tail enders tried their best with some lofty hitting but ran short of overs as Car Fare Dubai managed only 143 runs losing eight wickets.

Abdul Rehman remained unbeaten on 28 while Hitesh Parekh was not out on 26.

While the former hit two fours, Parekh belted one six and one four. Sidney Fernandes made 26, Abhinav Arora 27, Harkirat Panwar 10 and Babar 13.

Tariq was the main wrecker of Car Fare Dubai claiming three wickets for 24 runs.

Ashraf bagged two for 25 while Arif picked up one for 25 for the winners.

BM Abdullah and Naveed Ismail were the umpires of the final, witnessed by a large crowd of cricket fans.
