Jazira celebrate with win
Argentine Matias Delgado scored a brace as newly-crowned champions Al Jazira swamped relegation-threatened Ittihad Kalba in Week 19 of the Etisalat UAE Pro-League at the Mohammed bin Zayed Stadium on Friday night.
The attacking playmaker, a summer transfer from Turkish club Besiktas last year, struck in the fourth and 30th minutes and Juma Abdulla, Brazilians Bare and Ricardo Oliveira scored in the 18th, 19th and 34th minutes as the Abu Dhabi giants won 5-2.
Al Jazira, who sealed their maiden Pro-League title last week with a 4-0 thumping of Al Wasl, went ahead in the very fourth minute of the game through Matias Delgado.
They added a second in the 18th minute through Juma Abdulla. The celebration was yet to die down when Brazilian forward Bare added a third in the next minute. Ittihad Kalba pulled one back in the 24th minute Elias De Oliveira Rosa but Al Jazira pulled ahead again in the 30th minute through Delgado, who got his second.
And Ricardo Oliveira rounded it off with the fifth goal in the 34th minute. Simon Pierre Fiendouno reduced the margin with a goal in the 41st minute.
