Imran’s unbeaten century grounds Etihad Airways

ABU DHABI - Adgas bounced back into contention in the UBL Twenty20 Trophy thanks to an unbeaten century by Imran Ali. Adgas won the Group B fixture by 60 runs over Etihad Airways.

The one-down batsman smacked four sixes and a dozen boundaries as he racked up a quickfire and unbeaten 104 from 57 balls. Adgas made 193. Wasim Rashid snared four wickets for 17 from his four overs as Etihad Airways were restricted to 133 for nine in their 20 overs.

In Group C, Nissan Al Masaood edged past Brooke Bond by nine runs to score their second win in two games. Zaheer Baig led the way with an all-round show. He made an unbeaten 33 from 17 deliveries as Nissan Al Masaood posted 175 for eight. Mohammed Usman top scored with 42, while Raziq Khan made 32. Baig picked up three wickets as Brooke Bond made 166 for nine. Arshad Iqbal too picked up three wickets.

Brief scores: Adgas bt Etihad Airways by 60 runs. Adgas 193 for 7 in 20 overs (Imran Ali 104 not out, Arshad Khan 3-35, Sohail Khan 2-14, Rahil Sada 2-31). Etihad 133 for 9 in 20 overs (Wasim Rashid 4-17).

Nissan Al Masaood bt Brooke Bond by 9 runs. Al Masaood 175 for 8 in 20 overs (Mohammed Usman 42, Zaheer Baig 33 not out, Raziq Khan 32, Naveen Oliveira 2-22, Rohan Nayak 2-30, Naeem Ullah 2-38).

Perth Salt Valley bt Abu Dhabi Airport Services by 7 wickets. ADAS 131 for 9 in 20 overs (Zaid Akhbar 30, Adnan Asif 26, Mohammed Imran 2-16, Zubair Mir 2-19, Asim Abbasi 2-25). Perth Salt Valley 134 for 3 in 12.4 overs (Rizwan Amanat 55, Ghafoor Butt 42).
