In the final played recently, What’s On XI defeated Sky Jewellers by seven wickets. Sky Jewellers set a target of 169 which What’s On achieved in just 12.1 overs.

Farooq hit a hurricane half-century (78) from 27 balls and claimed four wickets to reach the victory target.
He hit nine boundaries and hit a dozen sixes during his stay at the crease. Although he lost his partner Reji Mohan early in the chase, Farooq found an able partner in Biju Thomas and both hit the rival bowlers all over the field and over it on many occasions. Thomas also hit a blistering half century (53) from 21 deliveries and reached the boundary on six occasions and hit three towering sixes as they chased 69 for victory.
Both got out in a hurry to reach the target but Nader Hussain and Sudeep Ghosh kept their cool and raced to 172 in 12.1 overs. While Hussain scored 27 from 15 balls and reached the fence five times Ghosh hit two boundaries for his 10 in four deliveries. Earlier Sky Jewellers, called the coin correctly and opted to bat first. Their batsmen failed to find the rhythm and did not remain for long at the crease. Fanook Kanwal was the top scorer with 36 made from 19 balls with the help of three fours.
Tail-enders Pranav Kumar and Prashanth Shetty gave some respectability to the Sky Jewellers innings with some useful contributions. Kumar scored 28 from 25 deliveries and hit two fours and one six while Shetty made 26 from 13 balls and reached the boundary once and over it twice.
Sohail Bilal (20), Shujaat Khan and Arun Pratap (13 each) were the other contributors.
Farooq was the star bowler for What’s On picking up four wickets whilst conceding 27 runs in his spell of four overs. Kumar Gandhi claimed three for 21 in his three overs, Nader Hussaim got two for 19 in his 3.2 overs and Balaji M picked up one for 21.
Farooq was named man of the match for his all-round performance.
