Adil the tormentor with 6-17

DUBAI — Four centuries and a six-wicket haul lightened up the Shyam Bhatia supported Dubai Cricket Council’s Cricket for Care Under-15 Inter Academy tournament during the week.

Divyendu Shekhar of ECT Dubai smashed a brilliant 104 runs in just 57 balls in which he hit eleven boundaries to help his team tote up 225 runs in 25 overs.

Rahul Anil was the other batsman to shine with a bright knock of 55 runs for ECT Dubai.

Unique Cricket Training boys were then bamboozled by the guiles of Mohammed Adil who bowled a tantalising spell in which he skittled out six of the UCT batsmen giving away only 17 runs in 3.1 overs to be nominated as the joint man of the match with Divyendu.

Thirteen-year-old Nelukshan De Silva dazzled for Desert Cubs as he struck a superb 103 runs including twelve boundaries to lead his team to a good total of 190 runs against Zayed Cricket Academy, the visitors from the capital who were then bowled out for 120 runs to hand Desert Cubs a big 70 run win as Kulith Rabel picked up three wickets.

Al Ain Sportsplex enjoyed their outing as Umar Khalid and Nasim Hussain put up a 163 runs partnership against ECT Sharjah. They were in a spot of bother at 17 for the loss of two wickets but the youngsters did very well to put their heads down and play responsibly and help their team to a total of 225 runs.

Umar was unbeaten with 102 runs in 67 balls with eleven fours while Nasim was unfortunate to miss his hundred scoring 96 runs in 69 balls with the help of eight fours and a six.

The ECT Sharjah lads found it difficult to achieve the target and were bundled out for 151 runs with only their openers Ahsan Abbas 31, Hinan Atif 27, and Ahsan Ali 21, playing well and giving them a good start but the rest of their batting stuttered against some excellent bowling by Inayatullah who bagged 4 wickets for 16 runs.

G Force Academy continued their good form and put up a mammoth total of 332 runs riding on two fruitful partnerships of 129 runs and 159 runs between Varun Totadri, Karthik Shekhar and Shorye Chopra.

The youngsters smashed the hapless bowling attack of Max Way Cricket Institute with Karthik leading the way with a knock of 100 runs in 53 balls in which he hit thirteen boundaries.

Varun Totadri with a quick-fire 88 runs in 38 balls including sixteen fours and Shorye Chopra with an equally fierce knock of 83 runs in 35 balls laced with nine fours and two sixes dominated the attack.

Max Talent youngsters faced with a tall target collapsed in the face of G Force bowling as Aditya Mohan, ram narayan and Milind harish shared eight wickets between themselves to bundle out the opposition for only 42 runs and win a huge margin of 290 runs.

Max Way did very well in their outing on Saturday when they put it across Al Ain Sportsplex winning the game by 24 runs. Yash Shodan led the batting with a spirited display making 49 runs with five boundaries while Achyuth 23, and Nadeem 20, contributed in the middle order to help their team to 196 runs.

Al Ain was very much in the game as Naseem Hasan batted with great responsibility to make 54 runs and the going was good until the fall of the third wicket at 79 runs. After this, they lost their way as Kunal struck repeatedly to prise out 4 wickets giving away just 21 runs.
