The Sharjah Economic Development Department (SEDD) has shut down a popular hypermarket for failing to implement Covid safety measures as mandated by the authorities. The hypermarket and a salon were shut as they were crowded.
Inspectors found that people allowed inside these outlets were more than the permissible capacity. There was no social distancing between patrons.
The closure order comes as Sharjah tightened Covid safety rules and reduced capacities at malls and other public places.
The SEDD called on residents to report Covid violations to 80080000 or by visiting the consumer protection website www.shjconsumer.ae.
