His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, directed the Islamic Affairs Department (IAD) in Sharjah to make sure that any Covid-19 victim is not buried in the graveyard in Al Sajjah area in Sharjah.
In a statement issued by the Sharjah Government Media Bureau Office, Sheikh Sultan instructed IAD to confirm that none of the victims were buried in the mentioned area.
The Ruler's directive refutes a video on social media, claiming that burial of a Covid-19 victim has taken place in the graveyard in Al Sajjah, Wam reported.
The UAE has confirmed a total of eight Covid-19 deaths as of April 2.
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau urged the public to confirm the news from official sources, and not to circulate rumours and fake news. It also warned that the authorities will take action against the person who posted the video on social media.
