An exciting and diverse line-up of some of the world’s leading musicians - alongside Middle East favourites - are set to descend upon the Abu Dhabi Corniche for the upcoming Beats on the Beach programme free to the public.
Filipino sensation Charice and Three 6 Mafia rapper Juicy J - best known for his collaborations with Katy Perry and Nicki Minaj - will get things started on Thursday, November 20 alongside Arabic songstress Chada Hassoun and emerging Moroccan hip-hop artist Two Tone.
Things really heat up when American R&B hit-machine Jason Derulo takes to the stage on Friday, November 21. The 25-year-old singer - who saddened fans recently after splitting from his longtime girlfriend Jordin Sparks - has enjoyed incredible success with recent tracks Wiggle and Talk Dirty as well as older classics The Other Side and Whatcha’ Say. The star will be sharing the stage with Bollywood singer Hard Kaur and Emirati artist and local favourite Ruwaida Mahrooqi.
Dance fans are also in for a treat Friday night with another exciting addition of Closeup’s competition to find Dubai’s best urban dancers led by famed choreographers Charles Makriss and Nadja Issa.
British singer, songwriter and actress Rita Ora, who burst on to the international scene in 2012 with chart-topping hits How We Do (Party) and R.I.P., is set to thrill audiences on Saturday, November 22. She will be joined by this year’s most prominent breakout artist, Tinashe. Dubbed the next Beyoncé by the New York Times, the young singer-songwriter, dancer and former model will get the crowd singing along to her hit single 2 On and tracks from her highly acclaimed debut album Aquarius.
Adding more global flavour to the Saturday show will be celebrated Lebanese icon, Ragheb Alama, who has built strong local and international followings throughout his career. Alama will be joined by rising artist Sabine to deliver a sensational finale to the Beats on the Beach celebrations.
Nightclub O1NE Yas Island will be playing hosting duties to many of the artists in town as the official after-party destination of the Yasalam after-race concerts. Confirmed guests include Derulo on November 20, DJ powerhouse Armin van Buuren on November 21, Grammy-winning rapper T-Pain on November 22, and house music master Solomun on November 23.
The Yasalam festival, which has shifted this year to the West Plaza and Lagoon Beach, will be bringing back fan favourites including the hugely popular F1 FanZone for motorsport enthusiasts, an Urban Art Zone featuring live graffiti sessions and workshops as well as the opening carnival-styled parade.
