The Masala Awards 2010 lit up the sky on December 17, as the iconic life and style magazine paid tribute to the best of creative and innovative talent and also host to the top stars of Bollywood as well as the movers and shakers of the Asian expatriate society.

Among the stars were arguably the brightest star in the Mumbai film world’s firmament - living legend Amitabh Bachchan - the talented Hrithik Roshan, Karan Johar, and adding a lashing of glamour - Urmila Matondkar and Riya Sen. Mingling with the celebrities were Dubai’s A-listers, all there to celebrate the very best of the best.

Khaleej Times was the media partner for the event: other sponsors included Cool 94.7,Zee TV, Xclusive yachts, Prestige, Shoe Mart, Dubai Outlet Mall and The Guild PR company.

The evening was hosted by international model and music guru Wiqar Ali Khan and multi-talented actress Tanaaz Currim Irani.

The guests gave Bachchan, who won the Global Lifetime Achievement Award, a standing ovation. Hrithik too received a thunderous round of applause for being Outstanding Performer of the Year.
