You are a multi-instrumentalist, what does that mean?
I sing, play the guitar, saxophone and harmonica, besides and I also write and arrange music.
What has Dubai offered you, in terms of your music?
It has given me a platform to play hundreds of gigs over the last decade. Moreover, I've also had the chance to have my songs featured in a motion picture.
Your most memorable concert in town?
Playing with my band at Alpha Club in Meridien Village.
Which genre of music are you hooked on to?
I mostly listen to singer-songwriters.
What's on your playlist right now?
Witness from Wigan, and Jake Bugg and Fink.
One band you would give an arm and a leg to watch in Dubai?
Radiohead.
Nervous or confident. How was it the first time you stepped on stage?
Pretty well rehearsed I should say, but I've always had butterflies in my stomach.
A concert that inspired you?
Prince. The first time, I went for his gig was at the O2 in London, and second time at F1 Abu Dhabi. That guy was from another musical universe. Such an amazing talent with a unique funky artistic vision, and he had virtuosic chops to back up his music.
Which is your go-to place for music in Dubai?
I like bands that play originals, so that's where I would go. At present, it's a mix between Retox, Tribeca, Stereo, Brunswick, Music Room and Pizza Express.
One international stage you would love to play at?
The Royal Albert Hall.
One musician you would love to jam with?
It's the jazz piano legend Herbie Hancock. If it's songwriting, then I would collaborate with Neil Young.
Are you a self-taught musician or did you have formal training?
I've had mentors and tutors over the years, but I never went to formal music school. That's a dream I still hope to realise one day, maybe.
If not a musician what would you have been?
Unemployed.
