(DTCM) will witness many events including demonstrations of cake-making and cake decoration and tasting of the fresh preparations.
Starting from July 1 at Mercato, Jumeirah, the leading hospitality group will showcase 2551 wonder of cakes, which will be sold to visitors while Burj Al Arab and other hotel properties of the group will witness many sweet events related to the DSS theme week.
"An International Charity Cake sale on Friday, July 1, sponsored by Jumeirah, will highlight the Sweet Surprises week where visitors to Mercato can participate in a fund-raising event featuring 2,551 cakes of all shapes and sizes, reflecting the number of rooms belonging to the famed hotel management group," says Raida El Khoury Corporate Communications Manager of Mercato. She said that the 10-week long promotion would be marked by several special events designed to animate the DSS themes.
"The charity cake sale will commence from 6pm onwards, and with amazingly low prices of Dh20 for the small cakes and Dh30 for the larger ones, we expect that visitors to Mercato will have some really sweet surprises. All proceeds from this sale of cakes will be donated to deserving charities in Dubai," informs Raida.
Adds Jumeirah Representative of Sweets Surprises week, Abdin Nas Arallah, general manager, Bab Al Shams Resort, "Jumeirah always supports DTCM in all their events but this one particular event is very special as the money raised will go to various charities. I will invite everyone to join in and enjoy the event and also help in a good cause," he says.
On July 2, the Jumeirah Beach Hotel is the venue for a Far Eastern specialities event where Indonesian Chef Meidi Yanto will prepare desserts from Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and China. Meidi, who has studied the art of Indonesian cooking at the Culinary Institute and at the Hotel and Tourism School of Indonesia, was awarded several diplomas. Here, he will be demonstrating his skills from 6pm to 6.45pm and from 8pm to 8.45pm.
