A former Look of the Year contestant and second princess in the 1993 Miss World pageant, you wouldn’t think that there was a time that Ruffa Gutierrez ever felt ugly.
But yes, there was.
It was back in grade school. “I really felt ugly then. I was the shortest in class - this was before I started shooting up - and I was wearing glasses because I couldn’t see the blackboard. I remember wanting to be like Kris (Aquino) who had straight hair,”
recalls Ruffa, who is playing Daniella Valencia, the stunning, fashionably trendy yet strict superior of Betty and rival of Betty’s boss Armando for the position of president of their advertising agency, Eco Moda in I Love Betty La Fea, the Philippine adaptation of the Colombian telenovela that has become a hit all around the world.
During a press conference hosted for her by ABSCBN, Ruffa was flattered no end by the praise offered up by the media, who said that there was no other local actress who could have played the role as well as she could. The epitome of a chic dresser and powerful woman, Ruffa is excited by the role, since she loves fashion.
