Yaqeen Abboudi from Jordan, Zeina Mokdad from Lebanon, Maryam Al Yousef from Bahrain and Jane Slowe from Qatar. After a very difficult task, the Dean of VCUQ announced the jury's decision of the two winners for the grand prize of the competition. Yaqeen Abboudi from Rawdat Al Maaref School in Jordan and Zeina Mokdad from the Beirut Modern School in Lebanon are the outstanding students who will join VCUQ in September on a full four-year scholarship generously presented by Shaikha Mozah bint Nasser Al Missned.

The Third Annual Design Competition will be launched during the end of September 2004 in Qatar, Kuwait, Bahrain, UAE, Oman, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria and Egypt. The cash prizes of 'Be Here Design Now'2004 were sponsored by Qatar Tourism Authority, while DHL has sponsored the shipment of the students' projects to VCUQ from all the participating countries (Kuwait, Jordan, UAE, Oman, Lebanon, Bahrain and Qatar).

Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar, funded by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, is a branch campus of Virginia Commonwealth University, a leading American University with a prestigious and accomplished school of art. The purpose of VCU Qatar is to offer students in the Arab world the opportunity to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Communication Arts and Design, Fashion Design or Interior Design.
