Claws out in Toronto

MALLIKA SHERAWAT AND Bipasha Basu seems to have taken on the mantle of Bollywood’s latest warring ladies.

The women who were both in Toronto to take part in the the IIFA Awards revealed their claws for all to see.

Mallika apparantly couldn’t stand the fact that Bipasha was walking away with all the attention at the function.

As part of the final programme, host Boman Irani had to summon the film personalities present to come onstage. Bipasha was the first one to be called onstage and Mallika the last.

This didn’t go down well with the Thank You starlet, who refused to budge from her seat when her name was called, and merely sat there smiling despite being called onstage thrice.

From what we hear, one of the organisers had to intervene and plead with Mallika to go onstage. And even when she went up reluctantly, she refused to pose for the paparazzi present or exchange pleasantries with Bipasha.  

Our source elaborates, “Most of the industry people consider Bipasha a bigger name than Mallika. The number of films done by Bipasha also surpasses Mallika’s films. Mallika obviously thought that she should be bombarded with all the attention considering she walked in with Brian White, her co-star in Politics of Love and a Hollywood actor to boot.

“When that didn’t happen she made it clear that she did not want to have anything to do with Bipasha who she felt had upstaged her at the event.”
