Akshay Kumar is leaving no stone unturned for the promotion of his latest flick Chandni Chowk To China (CC2C). Seems like Aamir’s aggressive and unique techniques of promotion for Ghajini has rubbed off on Akshay too.

The premiere of his latest flick CC2C would spell grandeur as it would be held at seven different venues across the globe in a matter of seven days that is from January 7 to January 14. The destination decided for the premieres are Los Angeles, New York, Toronto, London, Dubai, Bangkok and Delhi. To make it possible for the cast to reach the theatres on time, Akki has hired a chartered flight to reach the venues. Apparently Akshay will dish out Rs3 crores for the chartered flight. He would be accompanied by wife Twinkle, the leading lady of the movie Deepika Padukone and director Nikhil Advani.

Supposedly this is also the first time that Akshay will appear at the premieres of his movie. He generally prefers to holiday with his family during the premiere of his movies. It is said that he is superstitious about attending his premiers for some unknown reason. But in these days of economic strife, he cannot let superstition stand in the way. The reason for such grand events and efforts: promotion plays a vital role in the fate of the movie, especially when you have a share in the distribution and the profits of the movie. Akshay now has a percentage of the satellite and distribution rights of each and every film he is a part of.

There is a lot of expectation from the movie with its many firsts. It is the first big budgeted movie of the year; it is the first Bollywood movie to be shot in China and also the first Indian Kung Fu film. The movie is shot in exotic locales in China and many portions have been shot at The Great Wall of China. Deepika Padukone also appears in a double role where she essays the role of a Ms. Tele Shopper’s Media, the Indian brand ambassador to eccentric Chinese gizmos and of a Chinese martial arts specialist.

The movie also stars Chinese actor Gordon Liu who has starred in many Hollywood flicks like The 36th Chamber Of Shaolin and in Kill Bill 1 and Kill Bill 2. And for the comic relief we have Akki himself with Ranvir Shorey. The movie is also touted to be inspired from Akshay’s real life from his growing days in Chandni Chowk (Delhi) to his journey to Bangkok where he worked as a chef and also mastered the martial arts.
