The ceremony at Hotel Cala di Volpe, Sardinia, on May 28 will feature more than 10 Globe Soccer Awards and six official LA LIGA Awards, with select Globe Soccer winners invited to Dubai
Charl Chaka - the self-proclaimed crossover King - is upping the ante with his DnB sets to flex his alternative muscle and show that there’s much more to this DJ than just four to the floor. In the resident’s corner, Da Funct and Rude Larry – arguably two of the most eclectic jocks to ever grace the Alpha stage – are bringing together their mutual love of breaks with a performance that promises to set off the unexpected.
And finally, veteran Mach4 AKA Ben will be gracing the stage with his larger-than-life stage persona and musical weight as he throws off the gloves to show the new kids on the block how its supposed to be done. As he drops the break beats, we’re assured they’ll stay broken.
Emphasising the importance of promoting local talent in all of its events, Bounce’s Battle of the Breaks is looking to highlight the heavyweights that continue to keep Dubai’s nightlife rolling. The world of Breakbeat is an amalgamation of several sub-genres of electronic music in which the rhythm is not a straight 4/4 as heard in House or Trance, rather a slightly broken up or syncopated beat. After breakdancers hijacked the beats to perform unreal dancefloor stunts, the genre came to be known as a wild and adventurous rhythmic path to freestyling.
