Palestinian Ambassador to UNESCO Monir Anastas said the 'inscription is a message of hope to our people in Gaza, who are fleeing bombs with no shelter, no food or water'
and with support of the Dubai Ladies club. Situated in the Arts and Talents centre, overlooking the sea, the focus was not only on make-up and the physical appearance of a person, instead, guests were invited to learn about the impact nutrition has on beauty.
Zeina Mouhawej, marketing manager of Masafi said, "This event is aimed at creating awareness among women on how drinking water is closely linked to beauty and healthy living. It is very important that beauty starts from the inside, not outside. Many people don't drink enough water. In our very hot climate, it is essential because it keeps the skin healthy, hydrated and fit. No matter how many beauty products women use, the results will not be seen unless the right quantity of water is in the body. Both the right hydration and beauty products go hand-in-hand in keeping ones skin looking healthy."
Pamphlets on nutritional facts about water, and its benefits were handed to the guests.
Dietician Rana Decker Sawaf from Cosme Surge beauty centre was also guiding the guests about the importance of regulating the quantity of water in one's body. With a measuring machine called Tanita, she could determine whether a person needs to drink more water or decrease the amount of fat in the body. By taking in a person's height and age as they are standing on it, the computer-connected machine then sends electrical signals through the persons body, allowing it to show us how much fat and water exists in that person's body.
Many well known brand names where there to support the message. Terry Allen, creative beauty manager, Paris Gallery School of Creative Beauty said that the range of beauty and skincare products present at the event represents some of the finest internationally renowned brands, who are committed to providing women with the proper kind of information to staying healthy and beautiful.
Among the lot was the internationally acclaimed brand Declor, which provides products that specialise in Aroma-Skincare. It is used in spas, but has the benefit in that one can also use the products in the convenience of their own home. It is a combination of aromatherapy (pure essential oils) and phytotherapy (cream of essential water and oil).
The first provides the treatment and the second provides the protection. The products treat the skin, face, and body problems for all skin types. Declor also offers products for cleansing and exfoliating products, masks, night creams and sun care products.
In addition, a variety of complimentary makeover sessions and advice was offered to all guests. Several raffles were held, giving the visitors the opportunity to win a range of exciting prizes.
This is just a starting point as Zeina Mouhawej explained, "We have other plans to help create awareness, to make sure women and indeed their families know how much of water is right for their bodies. This is just the beginning and there is no end to such a campaign. We have a lot of future plans in Masafi, and dedicated products for ladies, that we will unveil in the near future," she said.
