Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has revealed that Hollywood actor Tom Hanks and his wife Rita Wilson are now officially citizens of Greece.
According to a report in Daily Mail, Mitsotakis shared an Instagram photo on Saturday night of himself, his wife Mareva Grabowski, with Hanks and Wilson.
They were seen holding up their new Greek passports, with Mitsotakis writing that both Hanks and Wilson, 'are now proud Greek citizens!'
Greece also extended citizenship to Hanks' entire family including his children Colin, Elizabeth, Chet and Truman.
Greece has been a vacation spot for Hanks and Wilson for years. They bought a plot of land on the island of Antiparos and built a home there in 2004.
Wilson's mother Dorothea Tzigkou was born in Albania near the Greece border.
