The 109-room resort is already witnessing a steady rise in the numbers of European visitors, particularly from Austria and Switzerland, recording a busy season for tourism, aided by the impetus that tourism has received with the initiatives taken by the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority. "We have developed a well-rounded portfolio of activities that complement the five-star services and atmosphere," said Manoj Kanwal, General Manager of Danat Resort.

The brand new property was declared open with the ceremonial ribbon cutting by Shaikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority in the presence of the Managing Director of the National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels, Abdullah Al Romeithi.

In an experience of a rare kind, the resort offers fishing excursions, island hopping and exclusive trips to the Sir Bani Yas Island natural reserve which serves to enhance the overall guest experience with adventure, education and culture.

At the resort, guests have access to a private 800-metre sand beach as well as two floodlit tennis courts and two squash courts, swimming pool, the body and soul & health club plus water sports.

Kanwal predicts that the upcoming season will be busy. The resort has already announced attractive Christmas and New Year packages for UAE residents. "We have excellent rates for UAE residents to enjoy the festive season and unlike many properties around the world at this time of the year, we do not set a five-night minimum stay as we want them to make the most of the time they have," he said.

Rates are a nominal Dh550 per night for double occupancy in a deluxe seaside room and include buffet breakfast at Tides, the all-day dining restaurant.

For those seeking adventure, Danat Resort that is just a two-hour drive from the capital, can arrange for deep-sea fishing excursions, along with desert safaris and boat trips to Sir Bani Yas Island to experience the abundant wildlife first-hand.

Danat Hotels & Resorts, a division of the Abu Dhabi-based National Corporation for Tourism and Hotels (NCT&H), manages two five-star resorts, as well as a cluster of four-star properties in the emirate. "Danat Resort Jebel Dhana is the first five-star deluxe resort on the West Coast of the UAE and is set to become the flagship for tourism development in the region," Kanwal added.
