The 34-nation Financial Action Task Force again urged states on Thursday to warn financial institutions of risks associated with Iran but welcomed Tehran's pledge to boost safeguards and urged it to take action quickly.
Responding to the report, the Treasury said it has repeatedly expressed its "deep concerns about Iran's financial and material support to deadly terrorist groups."
"Consistent with the FATF action, we will be employing additional actions to target the risk of terrorist financing emanating from Iran," the Treasury said in a statement. It did not identify actions it would take.
