This agreement will bring the number of double taxation agreements signed by the UAE with various countries to 44 of which 39 have been effected.

''The agreement constitutes the framework for addressing double taxation between the two countries and provide more certainty of tax treatment for businesses within the tax jurisdictions of both countries. It will create a conducive investment climate between the two countries,'' said Khalid Al Bustani, assistant undersecretary for resources and budgetary affairs at the Ministry of Finance and Industry.
