My recent work with entrepreneurial women has installed a belief in me that the golden age for women entrepreneurs has finally begun. The universe has conspired, inspired and triggered a revolutionary trend in the economic environment around us that is mass producing enterprising females equipped with inspiration, know-how and funding. Talent was never questionable. Gathering resources and putting them to right use at home has now ventured out of houses and has taken the shape of enterprises.
Women still haven't given up their original interests. Art, home science, money and family welfare are still high in their primary agenda list. All these priorities have found creative objectives and the ideas have become the basis of women-owned enterprise - from neuroscience to finance to retail, women are everywhere.
In recent years, the rate of women entrepreneurs has been growing at a percentage at least double that of their male counterparts. There is more of a focus on hearing what women have to offer and recognising the value of investing in them.
Many companies now believe that the products which target women have a fast-growing, lucrative niche. Women entrepreneurship is becoming a global phenomenon.
The growth has been very swift in recent years. From 2015 to 2016, women's entrepreneurship rates increased by 10 per cent on average versus 5 per cent for males, across 51 economies according to a survey. The gender gap has closed in many countries, where women are as likely as or more likely than men to start businesses.
So, what is sparking women's interest in the start-up scene? Let's list down a few of the important factors that contribute towards this growth.
