Reuben powers YTCA

DUBAI - In-form Reuben Abraham steered YTCA to convincing victories over G Force and Desert Cubs respectively, en route to the final of the Under-19 division of the Nissan Gulf Cup organized by YTCA under the auspices of the Dubai Cricket Council.

YTCA, who posted four out of four wins in their league engagements, will take on G Force in the final. G Force finished off their league second with three wins out of four matches.

In the match against Desert Cub, the YTCA lads displayed tremendous team-work to tame the Cubs to a moderate total of 127 for five wickets in the allotted 25 overs.

YTCA’s Mohsin and Chirag shared the spoils claiming three wickets each.

In reply, Reuben cracked an unbeaten 57 to help YTCA score 128 for the loss of four wickets and 2.4 overs to spare. Reuben’s knock was studded with four boundaries while Adnan Khan (38) and Nagarjun (21) also made useful contributions.

Reuben maintained his fine form when he once again hogged the limelight with a superb unbeaten knock of 80 runs in YTCA’s five-wicket win over fancied G Force. G Force, batting first, were restricted to 125 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Kurt top scored with 50 runs made with the help of two fours and as many sixes.

Aditya and Chirag, claimed two wickets each for YTCA.

YTCA, chasing the moderate total, batted with caution as they scored 125 for the loss of five wickets in the last over of the match. Reuben, held one end firmly as he scored 80 runs containing seven boundaries, to see YTCA home with just two balls to spare.
