Oman Mobile introduces Blackberry

MUSCAT — Oman Mobile, the Sultanate's leading cellphone operator, has introduced the BlackBerry service to the country for the first time. The company's top executive said the new facility was set to become an valuable tool for businessmen, adding that for individual customers it allowed "effortless" receipt of emails, among other benefits.

At a Press conference here, Managing Director Dr Amer al Rawas also revealed that Oman Mobile, which currently has a customer base of more than 1.4 million, would soon launch 3G services covering "the whole country." "BlackBerry provides seamless connectivity for our customers, even while they are travelling. It is the must-have business tool for mobile email and communications," Rawas said.
