Nahtam launches '67 Inspiring Stories'

ABU DHABI - Nahtam Social Responsibility, UNDP-UAE and the Embassy of South Africa has launched '67 Inspiring Stories'.

In an inaugural ceremony the first copy of the book was handed over by Nahtam Team — Ebrahim Al Haddar, chairman; George V. Itty, CEO; Isabelle Le Bon-Poonoosamy, vice-president; and South African Ambassador Mpetjane Kgaogelo Lekgoro to Yusuffali MA, managing director of Lulu Group International.

The ceremony was also attended by British Ambassador Dominic Jermey, Iranian Ambassador Dr Mohammad Reza Fayyaz; Malaysian Ambassador Ahmad Anwar Adnan, embassies of Norway, Chile, Venezuela, Italy, the Philippines, Japan, Belgium, VIPs, dignitaries, Nahtam team, and the 67 story senders.

The making of the book was inspired by the commemorative Nelson Mandela Day celebration on July 2011 as per United Nations resolution to pay tribute to Nelson Mandela on his 67 years of humanitarian services across the globe. 2011 Nelson Mandela Day celebration in Abu Dhabi participated by Shaikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister of Culture, Youth and Community Development; Reem Ibrahim Al Hashimi, UAE Minister of State; Shaikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, UAE Minister of International Development and Cooperation; Yacoob Abba Omar, 2011 South African Ambassador to UAE; and Dr Elissar Sarrouh, 2011 UN Resident Coordinator UNDP paved the way for the creation of the book that envisions to encourage and motivate the people to do community work.

The ‘67 Inspiring Stories’ is an exclusive collection of real-life stories written by 67 individuals/ groups who lives in the UAE and took time to help out those around them as part of their social responsibility for the community. Best Participant School awarded to Emirates Future International Academy, received by their Chairman Dr Francis Cleetus.

George V. Itty said: “Social responsibility doesn’t need money or big infrastructure. Just little time and effort can make a big difference.”

Nahtam Social Responsibility appreciates all the writers for sending their stories and congratulates the writers of selected stories for the book ‘67 Inspiring Stories’, and sponsors Lulu, French Fried Chicken (FFC), Bunduq, Khalidiyah Mall, Royal Printing Press, Little Smarties Nursery and Abdul Majeed Al Fahim.
