Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment signs deal

DUBAI - The Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment for Young Business Leaders signed a strategic co-operation agreement with the Business Entrepreneurs Forum (BEF). In accordance with their joint vision of encouraging economic growth, the agreement will support UAE nationals interested in running their own business.

The agreement was signed by Abdul Baset Al Janahi the CEO of the Mohammed bin Rashid Establishment, and by Abdul Munem bin Essa Al Sarkal the chief of Board of Directors of the Entrepreneurs Forum as well as officials from both parties. Al Janahi said : "The agreement signed with the Entrepreneurs Forum came as an initiative by both sides to assist small and medium size establishments."- Staff Report

Amlak Finance (Jordan) plans to raise capital

DUBAI - Amlak Finance (Jordan) PLC - previously Inwan Investment PLC - was officially established during the recently held Extraordinary General Meeting (EGM).

The company plans to increase capital by 8 million shares - from 55 million shares to 63 million shares, of which 5 million shares will be allotted to Amlak Jordan Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Amlak Finance PJSC, UAE and the remaining 3 million shares will be allotted to International Finance Corporate (IFC) of World Bank.- Staff Report

Gulf General Investment opens new firm in Sharjah

DUBAI - Gulf General Investment Company (GGICO) has opened a new company in Sharjah, Horizon Energy Co. L.L.C, for the trading of Bitumen and Manufacturing and sale of other value added Bitumen products.

The project will incorporate a 10,550 square meter plant in Khalid Port and have an installed storage capacity of 16,000 tonne.- Staff Report

Abu Dhabi Aviation profit up 26.76pc in first half

ABU DHABI - Abu Dhabi Aviation reported a net profit of Dh38.57 million during the first half of the year against Dh30.43 million, posting an improvement of 26.76 per cent.

Abu Dhabi Aviation operating profit grew Dh51.94 million, during the first half of 2008, up against Dh20.79 million, in the corresponding period, registering a growth of 150 per cent.

Earning per share grew to Dh0.095 in the first half up from 0.076 in the same of 2007. - Staff Report

Sun Hung Kai launches Alpha MENA Fund to tap growth

DUBAI - Sun Hung Kai Financial (SHKF), will be launching in August the SHK Alpha MENA Fund through a strategic partnership between SHK Fund Management Limited (SHKFM) and Dubai-based Algebra Capital Limited (Algebra Capital), to provide professional investors with greater exposure to the growing Middle East and North Africa markets, the company said in a Press statement.- Staff Report
