The two companies have also announced that e-retail will now be the exclusive distributor for HANNspree, the manufacturer of fashionable, innovative LCD TVs, in the MENA region excluding Saudi Arabia. In addition, e-retail also plans to offer its retail service to other leading multinational brands in the near future.
Speaking to Khaleej Times, Samer El Borhan, General Manager, e-retail said, "The launch of e-retail marks the beginning of a new chapter in consumer electronics retailing in the region. We will be retailing some of the premier IT and electronics brands, including products of HANNspree, which have captivated the imagination of customers world over with their unconventional design and styling." Earlier to the launch, e-retail conducted test marketing last July to check on the acceptance of the brand in the region and the feedback was excellent, said Borhan. HANNspree is the first audio-visual product brand in the world to develop fashionable products based on 360-degree design. In fact, HANNspree is a European/American brand fabricated in Taiwan.
Some of HANNspree's products that reflect their distinct design ethos include LCD TVs in the shape of basketballs, baseballs, teddy bears, elephants, giraffes and several other fascinating designs, including Disney and Warner Brothers characters. It is targeted at children in the age group of 5 to 12 years and priced upwards of Dh1800.
Houssam Mobied, CEO, Memory Technology Corporation (MTC) said, "We are glad to team up with EMPA to launch our retail arm which will help us further consolidate our position in the highly competitive and lucrative markets of the MENA region. Over the years we have established a strong relationship with our customers with our service efficiency and value addition, and the launch of e-retail will enable us to reach out to our target audience with greater impact."

MTC has a 50,000 square feet facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA) that is custom-designed for its sales, marketing, technical, finance and logistics operations.
