CFO Strategies Forum Mena, which will bring together 120 chairmen, CEOs, CFOs and industry experts to discuss trends, will open today at JW Marriott Marquis.
Held under the theme "The Future of Business," this year's programme looks at the evolving roles in the C-suite, as well as the opportunities technology and globalisation are bringing to the corporate finance function, Naseba Leadership services, organisers of the two-day event said.
"This year's conversation touches on issues we have found to be priorities for organisations in the region, such as how business respond to the rapidly changing macroeconomic environment, how CFOs drive corporate culture, restructuring and consolidation," organisers said in a statement.
The programme is designed to facilitate discussion, promote innovative thinking and provide attendees with actionable strategies to fuel the development of their companies.
Among those speaking today morning is John Mattone, the former coach to Steve Jobs. Mattone, who is also an authority on intelligent leadership and the world's number two ranked executive coach, will share with participants the principles that make him the man leaders and future leaders all around the world turn to for game-changing insights.
Other prominent speakers at today's session include PNC Menon, chairman of real estate developer Sobha Group; Khurram Siddiqui Partner, EY, Mena Financial Accounting Advisory Services Digital Leader.
Menon, who is now on the cusp of diversifying into newer businesses and starting a real estate fund, will share his journey, discuss his expansion plans and strategies to overcome today's uncertain Landscape at the conference.
Aly Rehan Khan, GCC VAT Trainer, Qadi Accountants, will speak on VAT legislation, regulations and frameworks that are on the verge of being implemented in the GCC. According to him, it is crucial for businesses to clearly understand the subsequent impact of these changes on their organisations and prepare accordingly.
"VAT's impact goes beyond the accounting department and their processes. Its implementation will challenge all aspects of business ranging from pricing strategies, business models, supply chain partnerships and negotiations to even sustainability issue for some businesses," said Khan.
