Lufthansa Technik Middle East Services, or LTMES, will bundle all the Middle East sales and service activities currently pursued by a variety of members of the international Lufthansa Technik Group.
The new company will look after customers in the Middle East for all Lufthansa Technik Group companies. It will also establish a repair operation for nacelle components such as fan reversers, inlet cowls and fan cowls. “LTMES will make it possible for us to speed up services and communication between Lufthansa Technik and the customer and structure them more efficiently,” said managing director Ziad Al Hazmi, who served as General Manager Gulf for Lufthansa Technik for two years before taking on this new position.
“Here we’ve got all the contact partners for sales, logistics, component areas and even Lufthansa Technical Training under just one roof.”
The Lufthansa Technik Group, with more than 30 subsidiaries and associates and over 26,000 employees worldwide, is one of the leading manufacturer-independent providers of technical services for the aviation industry. Its portfolio encompasses the entire spectrum of services for commercial aircraft: maintenance, repair, overhaul, modification and refit, engines and components. “Having a service and repair facility in the region offers our customers the opportunity for fast, flexible and cost-effect solutions, since we can avoid the additional costs of transporting components,” said Heike Hartmann, who heads up Airframe Related Components ARC at Lufthansa Technik.
Integrated services such as spare parts provision and repairs can be offered more efficiently to customers in the region when there is a local facility. Depending on the required repair, service can be provided directly at the customer site by an Airline Support Team AST®, at the LTMES facility, or be organized within the Lufthansa network.
“Lufthansa Technik Middle East Services and the new nacelle operation will allow us to live up to our Middle Eastern customers’ expectations and meet their needs in this growth market even better. We’re already considering adding other products,” Al Hazmi said.
