In the 152 Premier League matches City have played across the last four seasons, they have recorded 112 victories with just 17 defeats, racking up 372 goals
Emirates’ flights EK49/50 and EK51/52 are currently served by Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300ER, respectively. The second A380 service will add almost 1,800 seats per week on the route, reflecting Emirates’ steadfast commitment to the German market.
Thierry Antinori, executive vice president and chief commercial officer, Emirates said: “This is a significant development for Emirates as Munich is a key airport for us in Germany and in Europe. Passenger demand has been steadily growing and our second A380 will add much needed seat capacity which is essential for us to meet the demand growth of the route and support the expansion of trade, tourism and international investment in Germany. We are also proud to fly our flagship A380 aircraft as a connector of people and cargo between Germany and destinations across the globe, particularly as Germany plays a big role in producing this aircraft.”
Emirates also announced that it will operate a daily service to Luanda, Angola’s capital city, starting December 1, 2013 with the addition of four extra flights per week. The move to daily flights will add just over 1,600 more seats per week, giving Angolan travellers added convenience, more choice and seat availability in planning their travel to Dubai and beyond.
“The increase in flights to a daily service is a clear indication of the route’s success and its future growth potential. Angola is Africa’s second largest oil producer with a strong mining sector, and is one of the fastest growing economies in the world, making it an attractive business destination,” said Orhan Abbas, Emirates’ senior vice president, commercial operations Latin America, Central and Southern Africa.
Emirates SkyCargo, the freight division of Emirates, will also be expanding its operations in the Indian subcontinent following Emirates services to Sialkot, the airline’s fifth route in Pakistan. Supporting the thriving trade between the Indian subcontinent and the rest of the world, Emirates SkyCargo now offers a weekly capacity into and out of the region of 10,900 tonnes. With the addition of Sialkot, Emirates will operate 63 flights a week between Dubai and Pakistan offering 1,400 tonnes of cargo to Pakistan, giving a five per cent boost to cargo capacity. “With the new service to Sialkot, which is a major manufacturing hub in Pakistan, we are creating a new lane that will give local businesses access to trade opportunities across Emirates SkyCargo global network of more than 130 destinations, particularly in Europe, United States, Australia and the Middle East,” said Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ divisional senior vice president of cargo.
“When combined with the efficiency of one of the youngest fleets in the skies, unrivalled ground-handling facilities, and the very latest information technology, Emirates SkyCargo is the ideal partner for Sialkot based businesses as they look to boost trade,” added Sultan.
