The airline will provide a daily, non-stop passenger flights from Stockholm to its hub in Dubai from September 4, 2013. The new direct service, bringing more convenience and reduced travelling times to passengers, will be served by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering eight private suites in First Class, 42 lie-flat seats in Business Class and 304 seats in Economy Class.

“Sweden’s capital Stockholm is a key city for Emirates in Northern Europe. Emirates will provide significant links for trade and tourism with one-stop flights to the Far East, West Asia, Middle East, and Australia and beyond through our Qantas partnership, with a product and service proposition that represents superb value for money,” said Hubert Frach, divisional senior vice president of commercial operations-West, Emirates.

“Ahead of the launch of our new service, we are off to a promising start and we expect bookings to grow. Events such as the Emirates product presentation will help raise awareness about the airline and drive sales. Dubai is a well-known destination for Swedish travellers along with Bangkok and Beijing, which are popular destinations in Asia for leisure and business. These travel patterns provide a solid foundation to build upon with the help of our six-continent route network,” added Frach.

From September 4, 2013 Emirates’ flight EK158 will depart from Stockholm at 1355hrs arriving in Dubai at 2255hrs and EK 157 will depart from Dubai at 0715hrs and land in Stockholm at 1200hrs the same day.

Emirates operates services to 134 destinations in 77 countries from Dubai. Earlier this year Emirates launched services to Warsaw, Algiers and Haneda. Along with Stockholm, Emirates has announced plans to launch services Clark in the Philippines beginning on October 1, 2013; the same day as it begins its transatlantic route between Milan and New York. A total of 130 Swedish nationals are employed across the Emirates Group, including 52 cabin crew.
