DVD reviews
Steve Jobs (2015) (PG)
If you're wondering whether this Danny Boyle-directed flick will bear too much resemblance to the 2013 Jobs, fret not. Steve Jobs is based on the biography of the same name written by Walter Isaacson and takes a much more realistic look at the life of the Apple co-founder. The film is structured into three acts, which cover 14 years of his life - each act taking place before Apple launched a key product, namely the Apple Macintosh, the NeXT Computer and the iMax G3. Michael Fassbender, who plays the role of Jobs, perfectly sheds light on a man who is complex and controlling.
Duration: 120 minutes
Genre: Biography/ Drama
What's good: Incredible performances and screenplay
What's bad: It's more drama than documentary
Cast: Michael Fassbender, Kate Winslet, Seth Rogen

Spectre (2015) (PG-13)
There's been a whole lot of hype for the latest Bond film, namely because it introduces us to Spectre, the infamous global criminal organisation that we've all been waiting for. There's a lot of power play going on in the secret service and even talk of dismantling the '00' section. In the midst of this confusion, Bond (Craig) receives a cryptic message that leads him to infiltrate a Spectre meeting. However, he's discovered and is forced to make haste, and the only way to find out what the organisation is really up to is to work with the gorgeous Madeline Swan (Seydoux).
Duration: 148 minutes
Genre:Action/ Adventure/ Thriller
What's good: The action sequences do not get old
What's bad: The extremely clichéd plot and dialogues
Cast: Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux
