He also aims to endorse laws that ensure jobs for families which have no employed member. In an interview with Khaleej Times, Al Amri (candidate No. 779) said, “In my election agenda, there are plenty of issues concerning the Emirati families and other affairs focusing on the nation-building process and economic stability.
“If I am elected to the FNC, I would focus on further cementing constitutional laws for different sectors like industrial and technological developments.” The current elections with the participation of 130,000 voters, of whom around 50 per cent are women, has placed the UAE on top of the countries in the region with political participation of common people, thanks to the visionary leadership of the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Al Amri said.
“Shaikh Khalifa has put the nation on the right path of democracy which will ensure prosperity to all sections of the society and progress in the economic, education and cultural sectors.” The current electoral developments in the country guarantee a bright social progress in the nation and cement national interest too, he stressed.
“Due to these developments, I decided to contest the FNC elections to take part in the political system and help support the nation-building process,” Al Amri said.
“I would seek a solid constitution guaranteeing different rights so that it could address the Emirati community’s issues. Such steps will not only strengthen the individual self-esteem to move forward in life but also develop all sections in the nation,” Al Amri said.
“If elected we would urge the government to lay greater developmental emphasis on the far-flung regions of the nation which are witnessing slow progress. With such a step, all sections of the Emirati society will benefit. “Developing remote regions with markets and other facilities will also generate job and investment opportunities for locals and give residents ample accessibility to them.
“Promoting small businesses and industries will first boost the Halal commodities, which will later drive investors towards exporting goods outside the country,” Al Amri suggested. — anwar@khaleejtimes.com.
