Other than being a safe haven and a place that provides over-the-top luxury, UAE has dedicated its efforts towards investing in its youth.
A reflection of such investments manifests itself in someone like the young entrepreneur Anas Bukhash. At the age of 35, Bukhash is a founder of two businesses, with another idea in the making.
"I'm proud that UAE is such an ambitious country. It is the country where your dreams and goals come to life. For us, it is the land of dreams."
Now as the country celebrates its 45th National Day, Bukhash noted it is important to remember the achievements that leaders have achieved in a short span of time.
"It's a country younger than 50 years old, younger than our grandparents. Sometimes we do not realise how young UAE is. While we always want to achieve more, it is important to appreciate how much we have come through and remember where we came from."
Bukhash noted that the country provide great grounds for supporting new ideas. Being a founder of Ahdaaf Sports Club that provides indoor football fields and Bukhash Brothers, which is a celebrity influencer marketing agency, both ideas are relatively new to the region.
"Our leaders invested in the human life to provide us with the education, safety and health to facilitate our life and make it easier," said Bukhash.
And the two-sided love and appreciation between the leadership and its people is a fact behind the constructive development. For Bukhash, whose club has grown from two fields to 27, young people can largely contribute to the country's economy.
"When you have a business, you're establishing vacancies and creating jobs. Your money, in return, is going back to the country that once served you."
For the father of two boys, National Day is a celebration of being a family in the UAE. It is a day where Emiratis share the love they have for the country with other residents in the country.
"We get to unite with over 200 other nationalities, religions, cultures who are carrying one flag and interested to wear the traditional clothes. This, in itself, is beautiful."
What I'll teach my sons
For Bukhash, being born in this luxury and convenience makes it easy to take everything for granted. On the occasion of National Day, the entrepreneur said he will teach his sons to celebrate humility and accomplishment.
"I want them to celebrate where they're from. I always tell them about our founders who invested in the human life," said Bukhash.
He added that he focuses on teaching his sons to appreciate what they have through visiting developing countries. "When you experience poverty firsthand, that is when you learn to appreciate the basics that barely crosses your mind." With a country and leadership with long-term vision, Bukhash said it will continue to become prosperous.
"The nation proved to be adaptable to its circumstances. Expanding in different fields shows the leaders' proactive approach that extends beyond oil and gas."
And for that, Bukhash said, Emiratis are in safe hands.
