WATCH: Saudi plane escapes being struck by lightning

Dubai - This is the terrifying moment a plane flying over NorthWest Saudi Arabia was nearly struck by a bolt of lightning during a thunderstorm.

The video shows the harrowing moment a Saudi passenger aircraft on a domestic flight has a close miss with nature at its elemental best.
The video was uploaded on YouTube film by Ajel newspaper and showed the plane flying over the town of Hail.
The Saudi paper reported that said the lightning missed the aircraft and there were no casualties.
This is not the first time this year that such an incident has taken place. In February this year a passenger on board an Etihad Airways flight has captured rare footage of lighting hitting a plane as it flew through turbulent weather.
According to a Daily Mail report, the Icelandair flight from Reykjavik to London was approaching Heathrow airport at around 8.30pm when it was hit by the lightning but it somehow managed to escape unscathed.
Last week in April, a British Airways plane was struck by lightning during London thunderstorm.
